West Coast Swing is a fun, expressive partner dance that lets you connect with the music and your partner in a unique way. It’s an adaptable and creative dance, with fewer rules than other styles, making it perfect for anyone, whether you have dance experience or not. There’s no required role for lead or follow—dancers can switch roles throughout a song, adding even more freedom to the experience. In this basics class, you’ll learn the core techniques and some basic patterns that make West Coast Swing so smooth and exciting. All you need is a willingness to learn and have fun—no experience required! At the end of the semester, we will be raffling off a new pair of dance shoes to one lucky dancer!
